Once again, Nahum describes the destruction of the city of Nineveh. It is a bleak future that does not lend itself to much optimism. Look deeper though, and you'll see something about the nature and character of God. Nineveh, and the Assyrian Empire, will find itself and its brutal, oppressive methods completely overturned. Weak, helpless Judah will find themselves free. Our God is the God of reversals. If he can reverse the course of nations, He can reverse our condition.
