About Us

Machias Community Church has a history that goes back to 1902, as evidenced by the original building which still stands today ("The Old Chapel"). Today, our aim is the same as when the church was founded - to declare the hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are a non-denominational church, trusting in and teaching the authority of the Bible. We are served by Village Missions, a non-denominational, non-profit ministry that seeks to create spiritually vital churches in rural communities. Village Missions accomplishes this by sending qualified and committed missionary pastors/couples to help revitalize a rural church, and restore or maintain a gospel witness in that community.
