Wolf Eels are PNW favorites

Neither a wolf nor an eel, the Wolf Eel is the underwater puppy dog of the PNW. As adults they are often found as a male/female pair sharing a den. They look fierce and I wouldn't want one to go pitbull on me but they are fun to hand feed. That is feed them by hand.

The one picture directly above is a young female we called Wendy. She finally left the area and I just hope it was with a mate as there were a lot of fishermen in the area. She was very tame.

Even though this picture of her going after a crab looks aggressive she was actually moving very slow and deliberate to take the crab that was being offered by a diver just off camera to the left.
