Word's escape me

Posted by Pastor Ron Saturday, February 26, 2011 8:00:00 AM
Word's escape me Quite a few words escape me. Sometimes they come out on purpose and at other times I just blurt. Like when I saw this Victorian House (it's in Victoria after all.) I blurted, 'Wow! Really? That would be cool to live in a house like that!' Then I noticed the parking lot and the... read more

Sit Boy ~ good boy, here's your treat!

Posted by Pastor Ron Friday, February 25, 2011 8:00:00 AM
Sit Boy ~ good boy, here's your treat! I've hand fed land slugs before. It's fun. You can hear them crunch on a piece of lettuce. Put down the salt shaker and give it a try sometime. This Clown Nudibranch looks like it's sitting up begging for a treat. I don't know why I never thought to try and hand feed one of these guys.... read more

Another Friendly Encounter

Another Friendly Encounter What a strange occurrence. Most wild birds won't come close to a human but this little bird flew right up and landed on the patio as we were standing there. It helped itself to a few ants and when a hand was held out it came over for a closer look. It was totally without fear or... read more

The Tailor's Daughter

Posted by Pastor Ron Wednesday, February 23, 2011 8:00:00 AM
The Tailor's Daughter I only saw her briefly but I see her often now on my digital photo frame. I took two pictures. One of the tailor as I approached and the other as we passed the open door. She waved at us as we walked by on the busy street. I'm sure she would have smiled but her mouth was full. Her... read more

Your life altered while you wait

Posted by Pastor Ron Tuesday, February 22, 2011 8:00:00 AM
Your life altered while you wait Wouldn't it be nice to have the necessary changes made quickly, painlessly and at minimal cost. Fact is, many folks are willing to pay a great deal and even endure suffering to change their lives. Just the slim prospect of change is enough to get them to buy into the late night... read more

To Eat or be Eaten ~ that is the question.

To Eat or be Eaten ~ that is the question. (Clicking on the above picture will open a gallery of anemones) Though they look like brightly colored flowers, Anemones are not plants - they are animals. And they are some of the most beautiful animals here in the cold waters of the Pacific Northwest. Most anemones are fixed in... read more

Shaggy Mouse

Shaggy Mouse I'm not a big fan of having a mouse in the house, but seeing one on a dive is always welcome. This is the aptly named Shaggy Mouse Nudibranch. There is a wonderful variety of interesting creatures here in the cold waters of Puget Sound and we are well stocked with nudibranchs ~... read more

Elusive Dream?

Posted by Pastor Ron Friday, February 18, 2011 8:00:00 AM
Elusive Dream? What's in a name? One has to wonder ~ which came first, the name or the fire that ended one person's dream? Close examination of the front of the pilot house gives a clue. The mud line on the hull gives another clue that this dream continues to be elusive. We kayak past here on ... read more

OK, now what?!

Posted by Pastor Ron Thursday, February 17, 2011 8:00:00 AM
OK, now what?! Ever find yourself out on a limb or up a stump? I watched this little fellow sway back and forth, reaching in vain for something that wasn't there. He couldn't see because he has no eyes. All he had to do was turn around and go back the other way and after four minutes he did just... read more
